1878

1934

Inspired by a postcard of a man in a bikini style swimsuit, the underwear industry's biggest breakthrough was born, the Jockey Brief.

1935

Jockey Y-Front was invented and became Jockey's hottest item.

1938

Jockey launched in Australia.

1940

Jockey launched in New Zealand.

1947

Jockey became the first underwear brand to stitch is brand name onto the waistband.

1948

Jockey became the official underwear of the British Olympic team.

1962

Jockey engineered innerwear for the first manned mission to the moon, Apollo 11. Designed by Jockey to remain unaffected by gravity, the final products were worn by astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins in 1969 when they landed on the moon.

1970

The company changed its name to Jockey International, Inc.

1980

Jockey launched womens underwear with the Jockey for Her campaign.
